Michaela took care of everything. We had the most wonderful trip to Belize. The house was gorgeous, clean and if we needed anything at all Michaela took care of it. Everyone was so nice, so much to do on and off the island of San Pedro. Food was amazing from private chef. Bring lots of tip money, everything is so reasonable and there is no one you will meet that you won’t want to thank for the experience!

This vacation was one for the books! We were a group of 7 ladies and I can say that every part of our stay made us all feel wonderful. The staff was very attentive. The villa (Opal) was more than we expected. We loved the Villa Chef (Maria) and used her quite often. The shared pool was never crowded. Michaela was great in helping us coordinate excursions. We were all sad to leave and already planning a trip back! While the location is a little far from San Pedro town, it was not difficult to travel there via golf cart. Everyone was ridiculously nice and helpful.

Walking distance to amazing food. The property was beautiful and the views were second to none. If you are looking to play on the beach San Pedro might not be for you. Don't let that stop you. Let Roberto and his team take you out snorkeling, diving, fishing, and to secret swimming spots. We made life long friends in this awesome country. Michalea is the host- She is wonderful and will make sure your experience there is perfect.

The house was perfectly located, just enough outside town to be secluded, but not too far away! The Opal house was perfect for us, and the grounds were well kept. We made great use of the beautiful pool, dock swings, and toys on site! Highly recommend if you are looking to get away! Staff was great too!

Wedding of a Lifetime

For the past year, I've been working with the La Perla team to host our dream wedding. Marj and Michaela put us in touch with all the right people (wedding planner, grocery delivery, golf cart rental, boat and airline transportation) and our stay greatly exceeded our high expectations. Our group booked all 8 rentable villas and held a 4-day wedding with 50 of our best friends, and it was an experience that all of us will remember and enjoy forever.
La Perla is a hidden gem and a secluded personal paradise. With Michaela's support on-site, the property and team give their guests the chance to have the kind of vacation that they want, whether it was to go into town and make the most of every minute, or to relax and let time pass them by. Each villa on its own is beautiful, none is overshadowed by its neighbor, and the central pool gives a welcoming vibe that encourages the guests to explore outside their own space (and in our case, share their spaces with the others).
I couldn't be more grateful for the kind-hearted people of Belize and the La Perla team for allowing us to enjoy the wedding of our dreams

Wonderful property 5.5 miles north of town. About a 20 min. golf cart ride to town. But far enough from the hustle and bustle. Great restaurants within walking distance. Roberto is the tour operator for diving, snorkeling and fishing. Michaela and her housekeeping staff are amazing.

Beautiful place but too far from town. For safety reasons & shopping convenience, I didn’t like the location. My husband has no complaints but I had a few concerns since I spent time in the kitchen and laundry room. The kitchen stove required matches to use. I only had one roll of paper towel & one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom to work with (we were a party of 11). The laundry room sink had a leak which flooded the room. The laundry room doors is off & didn’t close properly. The fans in the recreational room didn’t work but was fixed afterwards. Gorgeous view but when walking out to pier, the stench of the orange seaweeds was overwhelming. The property was very clean & well manicured by the awesome landscapers that worked everyday...raking the sand into patterns. Despite the little blemishes, our hostess Makayla, compensated by gifting us these amazing, beautifully-arranged fruit trays.
Would I recommend this place to others? Absolutely!

Un-belizeable Place to Stay!

We stayed in Villa Opal for 2 weeks and had such an amazing time. The villa, the community, the concierge services and housekeeping were top notch. Michaela was so attentive to our needs and checked in with us regularly to see if there was anything she could do for us. Everything from arranging grocery deliveries to helping book excursions, travel arrangements, restaurant advice, massages, in-villa chef catering. Anything we wanted she would help to arrange.
I highly recommend this beautiful spot to get away and unwind.
The ocean is right in front of you with a dock for strolling down during the day or for stargazing at night.
We can’t wait for our next visit to La Perla del Caribe!!

First time I Belize we arrived later than expected at BZE but met by Mikaela at La Perla del Caribe who arranged luggage to our villa (Opal) and walked us through it with full explanations about everything. We were a party of 10 and she provided arrangements for grocery deliveries, trip ventures, flight changes and any reservations we required. We kept her on her toes and she made us feel special! Prior to her departure in the evenings she would check in to ensure our needs were addressed. Housekeeping staff were friendly and willing to assist with anything you asked or required. Fantastic setting for a relaxing or on the go adventure. Quiet setting north of town but offers an array of evening activities at various establishments a short distance away. Laundry facilities were available in the unit and it was equipped with the essentials. Friendly spot but suggest using a cart to get around. We met friendly people renting various villas as well as an owner who stopped by to check on us. We recently retired and would return to this location once we've explored the other places on our bucket list. Weather was fantastic!

We had an incredible stay at La Perla! We stayed in Villa Opal for 1 week, and we loved it! Villa Opal is gorgeous, clean, has everything you need and is in a great location. Highlights of the villa include the hammock off the master bedroom, an outdoor shower, and spacious living rooms upstairs and downstairs! We really enjoyed relaxing on the huge sunny deck overlooking the ocean, as well as walking out to the dock to hang out on the swings. The staff was very available, and helpful in setting up excursions and providing information. Can't wait to go back!

Stayed in Villa Opal. It is such an escape from the hustle and bustle of town. If you are looking for peace and serenity this is the place. We had meals on the large deck looking at the Caribbean blue water every day. The pool was just steps from the property and great for the children. Next we will get several couples to go in together.

Wonderful Thanksgiving Reunion

Our family from various corners of the US met for a beautiful 6 day getaway based out of Villa Opal. Everyone at La Perla Del Caribe was spectacular. The snorkeling just off the property which was accessible by complimentary kayak was exquisite. Maria Galvez, a local chef, prepared our amazing lobster Thanksgiving feast. Norma at Diamond Adventures arranged a full day catamaran snorkeling trip for all of us. The golf carts were there and ready for us. The location with the reef is the best reason to choose this accommodation and the wonderful hospitality directed by the lovely Alexa is a great reason to return! (Remember to reserve a grill in advance if you need it for a particular night! It all worked out, another tenant was finished by the time we needed it) Also, the 5.5 miles to town seems a lot longer due to the conditions of the road but that is just something to know. Travel can be arranged by boat to different restaurants or town. One night we even had pizza delivered by boat!

Opal Villa - La Perla

We stayed in Villa Opal from April 7 - 18, 2018. We had an amazing time. We were travelling with another couple and there was plenty of room in Opal. The villa is central to the pool with a great view of the ocean and other villas nearby. We spent a good deal of time on the wonderful balcony/veranda taking in the views and relaxing. Having the pool nearby was also a bonus. The grounds are groomed every day making the place even more beautiful. I would definitely stay in Opal again!
Alexa in the main office was extremely helpful, checking in with us and seeing if there was anything we needed. She arranged the chefs to cook for us one night to celebrate a birthday and our anniversaries. The food was so good - fresh and plentiful!! Alexa also helped us arrange masseuses to come one afternoon. She was also always available to answer any questions we may have had.
La Perla del Caribe is a wonderful place to stay in Belize and I highly recommend it and the Opal Villa.
We hope to come back again in the future!

La Perla is a beautiful, quiet area north of San Pedro Town. We stayed in the Opal villa and we had an extremely relaxing time. La Perla had arranged transportation for us from the water taxi and Jorge (the taxi driver) also stopped at the grocery store for us to stock up on food before we went to our villa. Jorge also arranged a driver to pick us up in Belize city to take us to the airport as we were running short on time for our flight. The villa grounds were kept very neat and it was nice to walk out of the villa to sand and have the pool right at our front door. The people in Belize are extremely friendly and very helpful. Everyone spoke English so there was no language barrier.
I can't wait to go back.
Alexa was extremely helpful with any questions we had regarding tours or directions.
We booked the chefs to come into our villa to cook our dinner one night. It was an awesome meal and a lot of food for leftovers.

villa itself was beautiful and the staff was courteous and helpful.Unfortunately due to the Sargasso seaweed on the beach, we were unable to swim on our beach. The pool was also closed far too often during our stay so there were a number of days that we had nowhere close by to swim which was very unfortunate with 4 children.

Our group of 10 stayed at La Perla in January 2018 and it lived up to our hopes for true Belizean villas in a beautiful location. We loved the quiet locale and being on the north side. From the views to the pool to the white sand, the grounds are impeccable. The onsite staff is top notch and helped us handle many different excursions and situations. The villas have large beautiful decks and are furnished nicely. Just a wonderful vacation, if you want to really get away from it all.

Our Villa Opal was everything it was cracked up to be in the description online. What we didn't expect, however, was how responsive and thoughtful and detail-oriented the management team was, from start to finish. They were on top of just everything---shuttle pick ups, responsiveness to an issue or two during our stay, reservations for excursions, even tracking down a missing sweatshirt. Southesby should bend over backwards to retain (and reward) Emma and Felix. They're that amazing.

We stayed at the Opal for 1 week. Was a great size for the 10 of us. The house was clean and the kids enjoyed both the pool table and the pool right across from our balcony. Staff was very nice and helpful. The helped us organize transport and excursions before we arrived and as well as while we were there. The little grocery store was close and town was 30 minute golf cart ride. We ate most of our meals (very basic) at the house but did drive once to town for dinner.

Our stay at Villa Opal in La Perla del Caribe was incredible! It was almost like we had our own private resort. From mediating & working out on the pier, to hanging at the pool with a drink in our hand, every moment was amazing! The home was well equipped & Mr. Bol and Felix were unbelievably accommodating. The only complaint is the bugs... we could not go out for more than 10 seconds without a bite, unless we were doused in bug repellant. Tips: buy a mosquito net for babies & buy water from Felix (5 gal) - much cheaper!

Ours was a girls weekend for 5. When we arrived a Villa Opal it was already evening and raining like crazy outside, as we walked into the villa it was an ahhhhh moment. The villa is spacious in in its common areas and the bedrooms are equally spacious with generous bathrooms. We had plenty of room to spend some alone time when wanted or for all of us to comfortably gather and share with each other.
The property is absolutely beautiful with lush tropical plants that are well maintained, just steps to the open or the pool. We spent a lot of time just hanging at the pool, there is a shady spot for those of us who were fair skinned, and plenty of sun for the sun goddesses among us. We even utilized the dock as a contemplative spot at sunrise.
The staff onsite were incredibly helpful and gracious. The assisted us with transportation and entertainment guidance. Felix helped us arrange a half day snorkeling expedition that was wonderful. We snorkeled and swam with the sharks (highly recommend). Belize is rightfully well known for it's snorkeling opportunities.
All in all - it was perfect and I know I will be returning to Belize and staying at La Perla. If you are looking for a low-key relaxing time, this is it!

Our family recently stayed in Villa Opal at La Perla. Wow, what a stunning villa. Perfectly located near the swimming pool and the beach, we were barefoot the whole time. We took bikes to a yoga class on a nearby dock, we kayaked to the reef, we went snorkelling at Mexico Rocks. And there are 3 great restaurants within walking distance. We even hired a chef to cook for us one night. Dream vacation

The staff at La Perla are extremely nice, polite, responsive, and professional. Villa Opal was a lovely home with everything we needed (with bonuses like a pool table), and the daily housekeeping was worth it's weight in gold. The grounds are well manicured, and the additional amenities such as golf carts, kayaks, bikes, chef, etc. made the stay even more enjoyable. We would rent again here in a heartbeat.
