We loved Villa Amber. Both bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms were large, comfortably furnished, well-ventilated by ceiling fans, windows and A/C (the last we needed only occasionally, thanks to the sea breezes). The living areas, indoors and out, were equally comfortable, and the entire place was very prettily decorated.

Remember it's someones home not a resort

It's a stunning view and the property is in great condition. While we were there they had ongoing maintenance to keep it looking it tip top shape.
However our experience was hot and cold.
We had plenty of cookware and plates, but nothing to keep leftovers from the chef's visit or our fishing and lobster excursions. Normally you would use saran wrap but there was no foil, saran wrap, or plastic bags. So we had to constantly hand clean dishes to use a storage. When we mentioned that there wasn't any the response was "Oh yeah".
We opted to cook more often then not because town was 45 mins away. Just a note the stores nearby had limited options. There are two restaurants/bars within walking distance otherwise it will take you 30 mins or longer via golf cart.
There were cockroaches in the pots and in my folded clothes in the drawers.Upon arrival there was a dead one on the floor. I understand that it's a tropical environment and they are the local pest, I just hate them.
This was not a big issue but seemed a little odd the master open floorplan had an open bathroom which was quite nice. But after taking a shower I noticed a gap in the floor boards that reveal the sand from under the elevated ground. So it was really hot there and cool next to the Air Con.
The property manager facilitated the contacts for excursions, golf cart rental, and water/air travel. Just beware that those prices changed once there and were different than listed in the guest book. Kendra was amazing to help us get things in town like rice and onions. She also helped us get a blender.
This is a great place to go with a group. We said hi to our neighbors but there wasn't the same sense of fun and comaraderie from a resort. I would have loved to see an onsite activities manager but that's when I need to remember this is someones home not a resort. Just like the posting in the kitchen and the guest book states.

Great location away from the busyness of San Pedro but a reasonable golf cart ride from town. Loved Villa Amber; tucked to the side of the resort so no one walking in front of the unit. Amazing deck- spent lots of time gazing into the sea. Very comfortable beds and bedding. Simple, tasteful decor. Everything we needed. Michaela and staff were in touch regularly to see how things were and responsive to any questions and requests. We had two incredible days on the water with Action Divers. Loved the Portofino and Sundeck, both v. close for meals. Would recommend renting a golf cart. Went to town about once a day. Pool was lovely too. We hope to return. It is lovely, well-maintained resort.

Four of us (two couples) stayed at Villa Amber. The home is absolutely perfect - from the relaxing hammock in the screen porches to the incredible views. The kitchen is well equipped with a blender, the outdoor seating area is perfect for card playing, the deck area lounge chairs are comfy and the pool is well kept and nearby. The manager Michaela did everything possible beforehand and during our stay to make our vacation perfect in every way. Transportation. Golf cart rental. Booking our wonderful snorkeling experience (the highlight of our trip) with Brio. Five stars plus!

We loved it here! The villa was even more spacious and the setting more beautiful than we'd imagined. It was not crowded and the service was impeccable -- Michaela and Roberto were particularly attentive and it was an added bonus for us to spend time with the property manager as well. Although not close to town, the golf cart ride into San Pedro was fun as there were lots of things to see along the way. There are a few places to eat near the resort and a spot to buy essential groceries (for a hefty price!) The villa was large and well-equipped, and we loved being able to leave for excursions or the airport right from our pier. There are villas of various sizes and interior decorating styles available -- Villa Amber was 2 bedrooms, right on the beach. We loved it and hope to return.

We just returned from our stay at LaPerla and had rented two of the the homes because we had 15 people in our group. The homes were very nice and the service was incredible. Makhala was so helpful in helping us schedule activities, massages and Chef Maria who came three times to cook amazing dinners for us. I would highly recommend using her as that was the best food that we ate on the island. The beach was kept very clean and I would definitely go back to LaPerla. The only downside is it is about 30 minutes to downtown SanPedro by golf cart but we did not mind being on the North end of the Island seeing as it is much quieter and more beautiful. Roberto was awesome and took our group out fishing and snorkeling and picked us up on our dock. It was a great place to stay and I would highly recommend LaPerla.

La Perla was an amazing resort. We were there for a wedding and it was a perfect set up with their ocean front villas. The pool was so refreshing and had an amazing ocean view. Michaela was our concierge who made sure all the wedding guests had absolutely anything we needed all weekend! Unfortunately there was not a bar or restaurant on the property but there were plenty that were walking distance or a short golf cart ride away (or full kitchen if cooking is your thing). If we ever find ourselves back on the island we will definitely be back!

The property is a 30 min golf cart drive into town so make sure to plan accordingly for any plans.

This is an incredible villa. We were so impressed with everything starting with Michaela reaching out ahead of time preparing for our arrival. Kendra was amazing on-site when we arrived and provided so much great information about tours and groceries. Roberto and his team cater to all requests for excursions and it is so nice to be picked up right at the pier on the property. The villa is gorgeous and the view is incredible, watch the sunrise from the front the deck or hammock.

The best part of staying at La Perla del Caribe is the service. I join many other people in singing the praises of Michaela and Roberto. Micheala connected with us on Snapchat and literally said, contact me for any matter at any time day or night. My rental cart breaks down on the road a mile away - no problem. Micheala has someone there to fix it in minutes. Roberto has the plan for guided tours anywhere you want to go anywhere in the country.
The grounds are very well tended. The beach and ocean are beautiful here. The villa is spacious and comfortable. It is laid out unusually well with beds and living room furniture facing huge openings to the spectacular view.
The property is a 20-minute golf cart drive from the city center. That is perfect. The city center can be a buzz with activity. The only thing you hear at La Perla is your travel companions and the wind in the palms!

This is our second time staying in Villa Amber and it was as amazing as the first time. The beds were super comfortable and it was nice having two queen beds in the second room for our 16 and 19 year old. The AC worked great, and the kitchen has everything you need. I would recommend getting groceries delivered before you stay. It's a little pricey but worth it. Micheala is great and takes care of everything! Roberto is great in getting any excursions planned. The views are SPECTACULAR!!! Only downside, there isn't any restaurant on site, but Portifino's is a 5 minute walk and you can get food delivered. Every morning there was a guy outside our villa selling breakfast burritos and tamales. YUM! It is pretty far North of town so be prepared for a rough road heading to town. It's about a 30 minute drive(on a golf cart) to San Pedro but there are plenty of places to stop by on the way. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here. You won't be dissapointed!

This place was amazing. The management goes far above and beyond to meet all your needs. They would pick up groceries, make all dinner and adventure reservations and help with transportation. We LOVED this property. Nice to find a two bedroom for adults where both bedrooms are nice. The second bedroom does not have a TV which would have been a plus if it had. If we had to think of any cons of the place were two items that can't be changed... The mosquitoes (on whole island) although management helped and put mosquito incense all over our porch which helped and we could sit out and enjoy the perfect view. It is a little further than we had hoped from downtown and the roads for about 3 miles are dark and have potholes out that way in general. After we got comfortable with the golf cart we did not let that stop us. We loved Villa Amber so much we would stay again even with the distance from town.

WE really enjoyed our stay at La Perla. Management was professional and helpful but unfortunately the beach was inaccessible due to the sargasso seagrass that overcame the shoreline. Property is well maintained but Kayaks and bicycles need to be replaced as well as the lounge chairs in pool and beach The only criticism you can give to this experience in Belize or any other developing countries is that although you are expected to pay "top first world prices" the services and infrastructure is that of a "third world country". For example getting to the resort from the city of San Pedro is a 20 minute ride through a mostly dirt road full of potholes and trash everywhere. No lighting or sidewalks... (taxi ride in a beaten up car is 40 US) I am glad we went and made good memories.

This was an amazing place to stay! The view was spectacular and the home was very comfortable. The pictures don't do it justice. The staff always went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed! Michaela made sure we had what we needed, Matthew helped schedule our adventures and Roberto with action divers was amazing! The property was walking distance to a couple nice restaurants but I would definitely rent a golf cart for your stay. One more recommendation, definitely take the flight over from Belize City. It's more expensive than the boat but so much easier! Will definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful time staying at the Villa Amber in the La Perla Del Caribe Resort. Our experience, from the time we booked, until the time we left, was made even better by the Guest Services Manager, Michaela. Her responsiveness and concern for her guests was outstanding. She made transportation arrangements (including the taxis and golf cart rental) along with dinner reservations and even got some emergency groceries delivered to us on our first night. She also arranged for local massages in our villa which were some of the best our group had ever experienced. The amenities in our villa were excellent with outdoor eating and lounging areas, large open areas indoors, comfortable bedrooms, large bathrooms and very relaxing screened in porches - complete with hammocks. The villa was eclectically furnished with lots of unique pieces making it feel very unique and homey. We cooked in a number of nights with the well equipped kitchen. We also enjoyed many of the site amenities with nice grounds and a nice pool. Overall, we highly recommend La Perla Del Caribe if you are looking for a smaller, quite resort with excellent staff that will ensure your stay is unbelizable!

This place is absolutely amazing. What a treat it was to stay here. We honestly have only positive things to say about not only staying at La Perla Del Caribe but more specifically Villa Amber. The grounds are kept pristine and will work hard to get you a fresh coconut! The cleaning crew was very thorough and nice. The concierge, Michaela, couldn't have been better at her job. She made everything very smooth for us and it was a breeze to contact her with any questions. Michaela went above and beyond to make sure we had the best vacation possible. It's quiet which we loved. We attempted to visit the Secret Beach but we're immediately turned off from the massive amounts of people that we turned around and came back to La Perla bc we preferred the beach at our own place more. We honestly hope to be able to stay here again next time we visit Ambergris Caye. We miss you guys already!

Amazing Villa Amber! Direct beach view and access, couldn’t imagine a better view. We fell asleep on the hammock, so relaxing. Kitchen had everything, we cooked then ate outside in the large breakfast nook. Took long walks on the beach to Sundeck Bar. Michaela the host was very helpful with arranging snorkeling boat tours and beach bbq. We loved our stay, hope to be back soon.

The rental was right on the water and the view could not be beat! The house was clean and the on-site staff were very accommodating. They met us at the front when we first arrived, took our luggage to the villa and instructed us about the rental.
It is about a 25 minute golf cart ride back to San Pedro, but there are beach bars and restaurants all along the way and we enjoyed going to different locations every night.
The pool was also clean and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this rental - it is clean and well managed - and the view was my favorite part!

Yet another amazing stay at La Perla Del Caribe

My family and I stayed in Villa Amber for 5 nights this trip and in Villa Sand a few years ago.
The property is beautiful. There is nothing like waking up in the morning to the beautiful reef view.
The staff as AMAZING. One morning we were on the front deck enjoying our coffee and the maintenance crew offered to cut us down some coconuts. Another day the stove was not lighting and the maintenance man came over immediately and fixed the gas within minutes.
The kitchen has all the amenities one could ask for and we did see a grill, although we did not use it as there are many places around to check out.
The beds are awesome as well as the A/C if you need to use it.
The only thing I would say as a word of caution is the condo is about 5 miles from town. However, if your looking for a beautiful, clean, quiet, friendly place you can't go wrong with La Perla Del Caribe.

Beautiful remote property

This was our first time in Belize, and we selected this property based upon reviews from others. The property is beautiful, and yes fairly remote. Each of the villas is independently owned and apparently maintenance is based upon each owner. We stayed in Amber which was perfectly located and no issues at all. Other renters we met mentioned air conditioning issues in their units. Having a golf cart was key to the experience - local "roads" can be a challenge. A few must do's: arranging for the sisters from Chefs for Hire to prepare a meal in your villa (fantastic!); a half day reef fishing trip (Sen and Marvin were first rate); and a trip to the Secret Beach. Rojo Beach Bar just down the road was a fabulous and unexpected find.
I would not rely on email communication with the on site team - there seemed to be either a lack of responsiveness or connectivity. Once on site everything was much easier.

La Perla del Caribe was the perfect place to spend a week in Ambergris Caye. Felix booked us wonderful adventures and Bul took great care of us in the evenings. Villa Amber was perfect for two couples with its two private bedrooms and baths. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook in a few times. The best part is the spacious deck to just sit and gaze at that beautiful water. We have visited several islands in the Caribbean but this is definitely our favorite.

We were thrilled with La Perla del Caribe. It was beautiful and so amazingly private. We especially enjoyed our unit which faced the ocean and felt as if we were there all alone. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We were there during football bowl season and appreciated access to American TV and great wifi. Would recommend to anyone who wants to get away, but still have wonderful amenities.

We came to La Perla del caribe over the Labour Day weekend and stayed in Villa Amber. The villa was perfect for our family of 4. There are plenty of places to explore nearby, so we rented a golf cart. Secret Beach is worth a visit, so is snorkelling at Mexico Rocks. We loved the restaurants, Rojo Lounge has great lobster pizza! We would definitely come back.

This was our 5th trip to Belize and we decided to splurge on a beachfront home. We stayed in Villa Amber and I cannot think of enough superlatives to describe how amazing it was. Everything was perfect for us. From the location (away from town) to the property and home (spectacular) to the management company (very responsive). This was one of the best vacations I have have ever experienced. If you want to see what living in paradise would be like this is your home. There is no restaurant on site but we picked up groceries in town and did our own cooking in the well equipped kitchen or walked to several of the neighboring restaurants up and down the beach. It is important to note that Belize is a developing country before you go. Power was out on the island for about 20-hours the first day. These things happen. Roads are not like in the US. Internet can be spotty. Those things said, I absolutely plan to go back and stay at La Perla very soon.

Relaxing villa right on the beach. The view and location was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful. Dine out, create your own beachfront meal or have the chef recommended by the resort come create a great dinner for you. The Villa had everything we needed for our 9 night stay. My only recommendation would be for the beds to be s little more comfortable. Falling asleep to the sound of the water made it better.
