Welcome to Highland Bunkhouse! This original bunkhouse, built in 1925, has been fully updated to include hardwood floors, granite countertops, new windows, new doors, and a bathroom. Period light fixtures and antique furnishings add to its charm.
This studio style bunkhouse has all the amenities to make your stay comfortable. There is a queen size bed and a bathroom with a step-in shower. The mini kitchen offers a mini fridge with freezer, microwave, coffee pot, and toaster oven. For your convenience there is a heating and air conditioner for your comfort with the unpredictable Wyoming weather. There is no laundry at this home, however there are two laundromats located in Cody.
The Bunkhouse is located approximately halfway between Yellowstone National Park and Cody, Wyoming in the heart of the breathtaking Wapiti Valley. It provides access to 42 private acres with Shoshone River frontage, 360-degree Absaroka Mountain views and wildlife in abundance. Relax on your private deck and drink in the beauty of the mountains, hike along the river or see if the fish are biting. Horseback riding, rock climbing, rafting, zip-lining, and boating are available nearby. It's a 20-minute drive to the world-class Buffalo Bill Center of the West, the Cody Nite Rodeo and numerous other attractions. Use the Bunkhouse as your home base while you enjoy Yellowstone, a mere 30-minute drive away. Open your windows at night, feel the cool mountain breeze, gaze at the stars and fall asleep to the sound of the river. Escape to the peace and tranquility of Highland Bunkhouse.

Great stay at Highland Bunkhouse
Loved the cabin! Having access to the mini fridge, toaster oven and microwave was perfect for breakfasts, prepping food/snacks for full days in Yellowstone and many dinners. Perfect distance to allow explorations in both Yellowstone and Cody.

Cute and cozy
The highland bunkhouse had everything we needed. The location between Yellowstone and Cody was ideal. The host was very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, and it was nice to have internet access. I was a little concerned about the road to the house as we were bringing out the motorcycle. It's a half mile of packed gravel but it's not loose gravel and as long as we took it slow it was fine.

Beautiful stars at night
We loved your charming cabin. The decor is so perfect I am in love with all of the light fixtures. The drive from the cabin to Yellowstone is one of my favorite things about this area- the Shoshone National Forest. The stars at night!! We went outside the cabin and took amazing photos of the Milky Way- amazing!!!

We loved your cabin! It was very comfortable and cozy. We loved the rustic style decor. I sat on the porch looking at the fabulous view an only wished I had more time to explore!

Cozy and clean
Flood had hit Yellowstone about 10 days before we came. Luckily the par was open. Very cozy. Very clean. We almost canceled our trip dou to the flood, glad we didn't.

Father and son road trip
Father and son (11) road trip to Yellowstone, historic floods hit just days before we headed this way but we decided to go anyway and make the best of it. So thankful we did! We were able to get in to the park on our last day and hit the a ton of spots. Lots of great moments and memories. Thank you!

Wonderful cabin

Perfect location
We really enjoyed our stay here at the cabin. It is a perfect location between Cody and Yellowstone. The cabin is perfect for the 2 of us. Enjoyed sitting on the porch and seeing the beautiful scenery. Happy for the AC!

Super tidy, cozy bunkhouse about 30 minutes from the east entrance to Yellowstone. People over 5'10" be aware that there is a low hanging support beam. I am 6' and had no issues bumping my head but any taller folks might find it more inconvenient. anyway... Great for couples! The night sky is beautiful and it is very quiet when you're ready to sleep. The scenery around is incredible during the day. Check in was easy and they were prompt in responding to any questions / messages. Will keep in mind for the future!!

Great Stay Away from Crowds

We stayed at this quaint and cozy cabin for our honeymoon. It was beautiful, well taken care of, and very clean. The road to get there is on a private road. There is another cabin that's close by and you share the BBQ and fire pit area with them. The creek is not seen from the cabin, you will need to walk a little ways down a hillside to get to it. Mountains are breathtaking and lots of wildlife around. We would definitely stay there again.

Home away form home. There are no words to express the generosity and kindness of Art and Meg. A beautiful state with beautiful people! In a world where you can be anything be like Art and Meg! This was our first time (def not our last) up here in the Yellowstone-Cody area. We saw bison, sheep, eagles, bears and a bit too close elk.. However it was the compassion of our hosts, we will forever remember.

After a long day in Yellowstone, I had no idea what to expect as I drove down the dirt road with the lovely mountain backdrop. I couldn't stop saying wow, wow, this is perfect for me! A special treat, thank you for the comfy bed and blankets. The décor is homey and thoughtful, the shower is great and love the lights around the sink. Sat on the porch and phoned home to my husband who couldn't make the trip. He was happy, I was happy here. Oh, and the stars!! Gorgeous!

We've had a wonderful time in Wyoming. This trip was two years in the making and it was well worth the wait. We explored the Grand Tetons for a few days and then came up to Cody for our Yellowstone stay. The bunkhouse proved to be the perfect home base while we hiked, explored, and rodeo-d! The sky at night out here is absolutely astonishing. Our hearts have truly loved Wyoming and we have already been talking about ‘next time'. Thank you so much for your hospitality and an unforgettable trip!

We had the absolute best time staying here on our honeymoon! The little cabin was perfect for us and the views were breathtaking! We saw grizzlies, goats, black bear, elk, white tail, mule deer and bison all from going in on the East Entrance of Yellowstone. This was my dream trip and it was better than we imagined!

What a welcome surprise to come “home “ to this adorable cabin after a long day in Yellowstone. The decor was warm and amenities all there including coffee real dishes, toaster oven, fridge. The porch perfect for sipping wine , then star gazing! Drive into park is stunning and i did it for 3 days. Remember in the directions you turn on the road “ just before “ ( or after depending) as the road sign was not immediately noticeable. Loved this gem! Everything i needed was there , warmly decorated, thoughtfully assembled.

Highland bunkhouse was everything we wanted for our short stay in the Cody/East Yellowstone area. Waking up and watching the sunrise over the mountains was one of those experiences we'll never forget. It was a short 20-25 min drive into Cody and about 30-40 mins into East Yellowstone but felt much shorter because the views and wildlife each way were incredible. You CANNOT get that experience staying in town. It felt remote but there are other houses around, so it was never scary. The bunkhouse is very small, but perfect for couples. Check in process was super simple, communication was great, and it was easy to find even though it was dark when we arrived. I'd definitely stay here again.
