   The location of this property is great. The size is great too. Unfortunately, it has not been maintained very well, and probably was REALLY nice a few years ago, and just isn't now. Here's a few examples... The wood floors are worn badly and needed to be refinished. The leather furniture is worn badly to the point that the love seat is held together with tape. The beds sag terribly when you lay in them (Master and upsrairs) so much so that you're in a hole once you've laid there a while. The device that is supposed to hold the cover to the hot tub to make it easier to get that big heavy thing off and on is broken. The pool table had one of the bumpers broken to the point where if you hit a ball off of it, the ball jumps up in the air. None of the pool cues have tips on them that you can really use, as they are all very worn out. The heating is impossible to get consistent throughout the building.

Thank you for your feedback and for staying with Foscoe Rentals at Above it All. We take feedback seriously had have notified the owners who are already working on these issues. The wood floors have already been re-finished, and the heating is working as it should. We will have maintenance check and repair the pool cues as well as the pool table if needed.    We enjoyed the property over 2 weeks during the Christmas holiday. It was a wonderful stay. The cabin was decorated for Christmas and clean. It is a well used cabin, and the kitchen is stocked with almost everything needed. There are a few things that need addressing, such as a plank in the deck is rotting out and needs replacing, and some of the railing vertical pieces are loose. The furniture is in used but good shape, comfortable. We had some difficulty in balancing the temperature on the three floors, but we worked it out. I would definitely stay here again!

   We truly enjoyed our stay at Above it All. The home was well maintained and the location was fantastic. We would absolutely stay here again as the layout for two small families worked well. The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of tableware. I only wish that in the description of the home they would include things like, pack-n-play, baby gates and tons of toys were available. This would save traveling families from having to pack these items. The only other wish was that the beds in the loft, the pull out matress and the bunk bed mattresses were upgraded. We only stayed 2 nights this time but hope to come back in the future the only thing that would hold us back are the mattresses. I have to go back and look at the property description, but we did not have access to a washer or dryer which would come in handy for a longer stay.

   Above it All exceeded expectations for our group. We celebrated a 3 year old birthday, went tubing at Hawksnest, got some skiing in at Sugar Mountain and had easy access to Boone, Blowing Rock, and downtown Banner Elk. The cabin is super convenient to all ski mountains, is close to dining and grocery, and was exactly what our crew needed. We spent a lot of time downstairs in the living area playing pool, hanging with family and catching the NCAA National Champuonship game. This cabin has everything needed for a family retreat, a friends gathering, or two couples with kids. We enjoyed our stay and will be back!

   Wonderful place to stay. We stayed an extra night because of the snow as the driveway was a nightmare with the ice. Downstairs gas logs had really strong fumes. I would definitely stay here again but not during ice and snow.

   This property was as described in the promo material. Beautiful.... It was spacious with beautiful views. It met our needs well as we had a toddler and a small dog. Both loved being able to be safely on the gated main deck. We look forward to coming back to this property in the future. We did not use the fire pit out back but noticed there was plenty of wood stacked on the deck. It was not clear if we were able to use the wood as it was not listed as an amenity for the property. Maybe make this more clear in the property information. Also - there was a portable crib in the master closet. We brought our own as this was not listed in the information as an amenity. We did a lot of cooking during our stay and were disappointed with the condition of the cookware...

   This house is fantastic. There ended up only being 4 of us, so we had more than enough room. We never used the hot tub or jacuzzi. We spent most of our time on the deck. The views were nice but not spectacular. One big, dead tree blocked some of the view. A highlight was seeing a pair of scarlet tanagers. We weren't sure whether or not we were allowed to walk around the lake. There was membership info in the notebook but nothing said we were. Because of the pandemic, we cooked in every night but one. The facilities were excellent. Everything was clean and well cared for. Ample excellent lighting. The one negative of this wonderful house is the driveway. It is a nightmare. We made sure to plan one trip down and up each day with huge trepidation. More tv remote instructions would have been helpful. We never could figure out the playroom box. We had a wonderful stay in the worst of times. Really felt above all the scary.

   Our family truly enjoyed the property and would stay there again. We loved the deck especially, it was a great place to relax, work remotely, and gather together. The hot tub was great, the fire pit was great. The local sites and amenities were amazing. I've already recommended it to friends. Here are some ways you could improve the property: 1) The mattresses on the bunk beds were very uncomfortable. We had planned to put siblings (23 years old and 12 years old) in that room, and the 23-year-old couldn't sleep on it and opted for the couch instead. Even the 12 year old complained of being uncomfortable and having trouble sleeping on the mattress. Replacing the mattresses, even with IKEA brand or similar, would vastly improve sleeping options. (The fold-out sofa in the loft had a mattress that was even worse, so we didn't use that either.) 2) The gravel driveway is pretty harrowing. We weren't warned or prepared for that first drive up that it would be so rough. I'm concerned that a few more big rains will make it impassable. I strongly advise having it checked out. 3) The pots and pans in the kitchen were barely adequate. There weren't enough of them and they were pretty flimsy. An inexpensive set of new pots and pans would really help.

   The only thing we encountered that I forgot to mention while we were there was that the cable box downstairs in the man cave did not work. We didn't complain because we were so happy with the rest of the house but I realize we should have told you for the sake of future guests. We enjoyed our stay so much that I booked the same house in April. I have used Foscoe rentals many times in the past and I keep coming back because I am always impressed with the service.    This was an absolutely gorgeous cabin. It was well stocked with a clear mission to make guests feel at home. I felt more like I was visiting family, rather than renting a cabin. In addition to being well stocked, there were games & activities for both adults & kids. It's location was far up enough to make you feel like you're out in the wild, with beautiful views, but literally less than 10 mins for all kinds of grocery stores, restaurants & all the conveniences of "town". It was just an all around beautiful & comfortable cabin. We very much look forward to making this cabin a staple of future vacations. Thank you all for your part in making our stay so comfortable & an overall wonderful experience.

   The master bedroom has a California King which was amazing! Great basement to play pool and hot tub to relax in at night. There was also fresh firewood to use which was so helpful. The owner is available 24/7 to address all your needs and was beyond helpful. Beyond the property being beautiful, the views are terrific. Lots to do at an amazing place! We highly recommend!
